DIY Wedding Ideas

I am planning a wedding on a small budget, was just wondering if anyone could give me a few ideas for favour tables? I saw a blog post on this rental site Fat Lama about doing a bit of craft and making my own favour table. Was thinking of hiring a popcorn machine maybe and having some nice signs with different toppings and just wondered what else anyone else has tried in terms of labels and favour tables? Some good urls would be much appreciated where I could get some ideas
