Hello,

I wanted to find out if there is or will be the Multi Design feature for rolls of labels. I see and use the multi design for sheets of labels, but was curious if it will ever be available for rolls as well.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for reaching out! While the Multi-Design feature is only available for sheets, you can use our Mail Merge option under the Tool menu in Maestro Label Designer for our blank sheet and blank roll products. This feature allows you to easily print variable data by importing it onto the design instead of manually editing each label.

Below is a link to our Mail Merge guide to help you get started. You can also view our article on How To Create A Mail Merge Data List.

Does this mean it is possible to use the Mail Merge function to print different designs onto the same roll?

For example, I have some very small labels. I would like to print the barcode column from my data on one tiny label, and the name column from my date on another label. (This is a design that has two labels side by side on the roll. I don't want to print them separately because they could get out of sync.

Ian S. - Yes, Maestro Label Designer does allow Mail Merge for thermal and inkjet roll templates. Below is a link to our tutorial with step-by-step instructions.

I apologize for any inconvenience, Ian. Currently, the Mail Merge feature is not compatible with the Multi Design tool, meaning that you won’t be able to use both simultaneously in your project. However, I recognize the importance of this functionality, and I would be happy to forward your request to our Maestro Label Designer Development Team for their future consideration. Your feedback is valuable, and we always strive to enhance our tools based on user needs.

Thank you for your understanding.
