Thanks: 1 times
I have to agree with each topic posted and am excited for an upgrade. I would like to see more options on text spacing, layout, justification, multiple options in one text box, etc. Specifically I would like to create a full circle of text where both the top and bottom hemisphere read from left to right. Thanks

Nancy - Thanks for the feedback. We have gotten multiple requests for additional text features. I will pass your feedback on to our development team so we can look into adding these options into our future upgrades.

Thanks.

Hey there, I am having some issues with text editing:

I am using two vastly different fonts for my label designs. In both fonts, the smaller the size gets, the worse the tracking gets. The fonts in question (I don't think that's the problem) are Roboto and Superclarendon.

As a result there are some words that get se par a te d, and cannot be read well. This, of course is unusable for me, and I need to find a way to fix it.

Is there a way around this?
Thanks!

I reviewed your design and spoke to our Maestro Label Designer technical team. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to easily fix this issue. The technology that we use in Maestro Label Designer tends to have problems with the spacing / kerning between letters on some fonts when the font size gets below 8 point. Unfortunately, this issue seems to be impacting both these fonts.

We are working on a new version of Maestro Label Designer that will likely improve performance in this situation, but the new version of Maestro Label Designer that is going to take advantage of this technology won't be released until sometime in the middle of 2015.

In the meantime, there may be a few workarounds that will work. Assuming you can't use a different font, you may want to consider creating the font at a larger size and then doing a screen shot of the text at that size (you could also do the screenshot in a program like Microsoft Word). Once you have taken a screenshot, you can upload the text as an image. This obviously adds some additional time to the process of making the labels.

Here is a tutorial on taking screenshots in Windows.

Another option to consider is try a different font. The fonts that start with the letters OL in the font list in Maestro Label Designer are built-in fonts and will perform better.

I apologize that we don't yet have a good fix in place. Thanks for your patience.

Dave
