Good afternoon

we use the model ZEBRA ZD420 for many products

we have had an issue with labels fading from exposure to either the sun or cold

any help would be grateful

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your thermal labels. I see that the Zebra ZD420 can print both direct thermal and thermal transfer labels. If you're printing direct thermal, you will likely see fading when used outdoors. This is because direct thermal media is sensitive to heat. With that in mind, we normally recommend direct thermal labels for short-term use.

Alternatively, you can try thermal transfer materials with a thermal transfer ribbon. These provide a more durable print and can be used long-term. Below are links to our Weatherproof Thermal Transfer (TW) products and thermal transfer ribbons.
