Although we have not tested every specific printer model in-house, we have found that many popular Hewlett-Packard laser printers work well with our materials. Customer feedback also supports this. However, we are not aware of a laser printer on the market that can print both rolls and sheets.

If you're thinking about printing rolls, there are two types of printers to consider: thermal roll printers and inkjet roll printers. Inkjet printers are preferred by customers who want to print full-color product labels, as thermal printing only supports single-color printing, which is typically black unless using a color ribbon with a thermal transfer printer.

When shopping for a printer, we recommend checking the printer model's specifications to ensure it can handle specialty label materials, such as our film-based Weatherproof Polyester Laser (LP). You should also consider the printer's printable area, as many printers have at least one non-printable margin, which may prevent it from printing to the edge of the sheet or label if the margins are narrow.

Thank you for confirming the printer model. The weatherproof materials are coated film, so they are not as absorbent as uncoated paper, like our White Matte (XW). As a result, they can easily become oversaturated with standard ink settings and may smear when exposed to moisture. The good news is that our materials are compatible with Primera, and a few printer adjustments should resolve these issues.

For most smearing or streaking issues, running a clean cycle and regular maintenance should improve the output. As well, you can manually decrease the Ink Saturation level to prevent the ink from running or smearing.
