What is the difference between Weatherproof Polyester Laser and Weatherproof Vinyl Laser materials? Which would you recommend for pantry jar labels?

Thanks.

Both materials, the weatherproof polyester for laser printing and the weatherproof vinyl for laser printing, can be used for similar purposes. Both products are very durable and will work well for applications where you need water resistance. The weatherproof polyester for laser printing is available in all our standard size configurations whereas the weatherproof vinyl for laser printing is only available for certain label sizes / configurations.

We added the vinyl material because we had customers who were requiring GHS approved labels. GHS stands for the Globally Harmonized System of the Classification and it is for labeling chemicals. It is a set of guidelines for ensuring the safe production, transport, handling, use and disposal of hazardous materials.

You can see our items available in the weatherproof polyester for laser printing at the link below.

I would typically recommend the weatherproof polyester for laser printing unless a customer really wants vinyl or requires a GHS approved material. In regards to your particular use - is there a reason why you want a weatherproof label? Items that go in a pantry aren't typically subjected to wet conditions so I would think our lower cost paper based products would work fine for your purposes.

We would be happy to send you samples for testing. You can fill out our sample request form at the link below.

I hope this information is helpful. I am happy to answer any additional questions that you may have in regards to our products.
