Hello, I am a singer who wants to produce his own CDs and need a good quality paper for the artwork and a machine suitable so I match the most possible the quality of the commercial music CDs you can find in music shops
Could you please recommend me a type of paper and a printer machine to do the job?
I have been using inkjet printers with Premium Photo Glossy paper but colours tend to fade and degradate
I was thinking about other options. A thermal printer?, a laser machine?, ...?
The thing is that I would love to have the same vivid colours and deep blacks like the ones I have with an inkjet printer but without foto fading/ degradation
I hope you can help me

PS: I have read that laser machines could be toxic in a small room, is it true?

David, I am not sure of the volume levels you have in mind. The quantity of CDs you plan to duplicate and label would impact the recommended option. If you are looking to invest in equipment specifically for printing CDs, I think you may want to consider printing directly onto the CD rather than printing onto a label and then applying the label to the CD. Labels can look great and be a great solution, but if you are looking for a commercial grade solution and you plan to produce a lot of CDs I think you may want to look at the direct printing option. If you are looking to produce small quantities then you may want to consider a desktop Epson printer with the CD / DVD printing add-ons. These would be inexpensive, but it is not automated so you have to load each CD individually to print it. https://epson.com/direct-cd-dvd-printingIf you are looking to a do mid-level volume then you could consider something like the Epson Discproducer Autoprinter or the Primera Bravo 4202 Disc Publisher. These units allow you to load in a bunch of CDs at one time.
