I recently purchased Weatherproof Gloss Inkjet labels and printed them using a Canon PIXMA G620 Inkjet photo printer. The print initially seemed very durable and would not rub off even when scratched. However as soon as I got the labels wet the ink rubbed off from lightly ribbing the labels with my finger. It is very important that these labels are water resistant for the use I intend to use them for. Please let me know if anyone has tips on how to fix this.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with print quality. Our Weatherproof Gloss Inkjet is specially designed for use with standard inkjet printers. It includes a topcoat that encapsulates and safeguards the ink as it is absorbed into the sheet. After printing, the ink should not smudge when touched with a wet hand or if soaked in water.

You can optimize the durability of your prints by adjusting the paper type and print quality settings in your Canon printer options. Selecting the Photo Paper Glossy setting often yields the best results. We also recommend using the "Standard” print quality setting, as the "High" setting might oversaturate the specialized inkjet topcoat.

If you've already attempted these options in your PIXMA G620 printer model without improved results, please let me know, and I'll be happy to continue troubleshooting with you.

Hello Jessica,

Thank you for your response, when I printed the labels I did use the photo glossy and normal print quality settings.

Thank you for confirming the settings you tested. If those didn't resolve the issue, your Pixma model also offers Photo Paper Semi-Gloss, Photo Paper Luster, and Cardstock. These may produce a better output.

I recommend trying the alternate paper type settings with the Standard print quality to see if this helps. Most printer manufacturers also suggest allowing some drying time before exposing the printed media to any contact, either dry or wet.
