Will the inkjet glossy labels hold up if applied to a plastic container that will be stored inside a refrigerator or will the labels absorb moisture from the air through the sides? How long will the labels hold up? Will the ink smudge due to the natural moisture found inside a refrigerator? The waterproof labels seem like overkill for this purpose given that they are double the price of the glossy labels.

Thank you for your inquiry. Typically, we do recommend either the Weatherproof White Matte or Weatherproof White Gloss inkjet materials for refrigerated applications. Both of these materials utilize a special topcoat that is designed to absorb ink and protect it from moisture.
The white gloss inkjet material is not a weatherproof material, meaning that contact with moisture or condensation will likely cause some smearing to occur. After printing, you could potentially apply a clear-coat protective spray to provide some added durability to moisture. The spray that we have recommended in the past is called Krylon Preserve-It, and can be purchased at craft stores such as Michael's and Hobby Lobby.
