Hello, I have a Dymo 330 turbo and need weather proof labels for my plants. I plan on using plastic tags and then applying the printed label to the tag. They need to last for at least 6 months to a year outside. Is there a label that can survive this need? Thanks

We do have a weatherproof material available for Dymo printers. You can check out our labels compatible with Dymo printers at the link below: https://www.onlinelabels.com/dy-cross-ref.htmOnce you select a size option, you can see the available materials for that label size. The material option you will want to select is "Weatherproof Direct Thermal" once you have selected a size. If you let me know the specific label size you are interested in, I can direct you to a specific product. For your information: Dymo printers use direct thermal technology and direct thermal materials. There are some disadvantages to direct thermal materials and direct thermal printing for products that require long term outdoor exposure. Direct thermal materials will fade or “yellow” over extended periods of time. Also, the label can darken when exposed to extreme heat and direct sunlight. Depending on your required volume and the length of time you need the labels to last, you may want to consider changing to a thermal transfer material and printer. Thermal transfer printers use ribbons and thermal transfer printing will be more stable for longer term outdoor applications. Here is an article on the topic: https://www.onlinelabels.com/articles/printing_direct_thermal_transfer.htmHere is a video that provides some more details: https://www.onlinelabels.com/videos/the-difference-between-thermal-transfer-and-direct-thermal-printers-onlinelabels-com.htmI hope this information is helpful. I am happy to provide more information if you have any questions. Thanks. Dave C. OnlineLabels.com

Just thermal label printer can create waterproof names with waterproof print. This is on the grounds for printing are water-based thus will smear when presented to water.
